My Thoughts On Endacopia

The Game Itself

Endacopia is truely excellent game that does a lot with the roughly ten hour runtime. Something I have not seen in a lot of other places is the specific way endacopia uses horror and I find it so interesting because despite endacopia being labeled a horror game it doesn't feel like one (not to say it isn't scary). Endacopia uses the full emotional spectrum to its advantage because despite there being a lot in the game to be scared of I also found myself feeling very comforted by the game as well. I believe nothing exists without contrast and so with that said you cannot have true horror without true reprieve and endacopia uses this in a truely wonderful way because for everything that made a chill run up my spine or jump in my seat there was also something that made laugh at a concerning volume or have my heart warmed. A lot of this game would not have worked nearly as well without the protaganist Mellow with his matter of fact tone about any given situation and realationships with other characters.
